Large-scale Russian Attacks Cut Electricity Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while residents in the city's east were experienced blackouts and dealt with interruptions to water systems, according to local authorities.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a distinct aerial attack in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has intensified strikes on electrical systems over the past few days, while officials has called for "substantial measures" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not window dressing but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and applying sanctions," was stated in a online statement.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 missiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were laboring to repair systems.

A wave of strikes struck power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the attacks on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by city authorities.

Authorities told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already affecting gas facilities.

Officials stated utility staff and government agencies were preparing for more assaults.
