Iranian Forces State Assault on American Facility in Bahrain, Amid Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched operations across the region in response for a "massive" and continuing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone in the area of the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any damage is not yet known and the United States has yet to issue a statement.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - said they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the regime.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a number of missiles," the statement continued.
It said wreckage fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
