Esteemed Actor The actor Pat Finn, Known For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Dies at Age 60.
US entertainer Finn, who featured in popular television series such as "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles recently after undergoing cancer treatment from 2022 onward, per reports.
"Pat never met a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones said in a statement.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
A Prolific TV Career
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He also had a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a party host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous hit series, like:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles are It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.
"He taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils throughout the years and it would be difficult to find someone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he posted publicly.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
