Democrats Unveil Most Recent Collection of Jeffrey Epstein Photographs as Justice Department Cut-off Date Approaches

The House Oversight Committee has published a set of approximately 70 images from the estate of late convicted sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein.

This represents the latest in a series of disclosure from a cache of more than 95,000 images the body has secured from Epstein's property. It includes photographs of passages from the literary work Lolita inscribed across a woman's body, and redacted pictures of female international passports.

This release occurs just hours before the 19 December cut-off for the Justice Department to disclose each files related to its inquiry into Epstein.

"These new photographs pose more questions about what exactly the DOJ has in its custody," stated the ranking member of the panel, Robert Garcia.

Contents in the Photos Released

Several of the photos released on this week show Epstein speaking with professor and activist Noam Chomsky on a private jet; Bill Gates standing next to a female whose face is obscured; Steve Bannon seated at a workstation across from Epstein, and previous Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a dinner gathering.

These are the most recent high-net-worth, powerful men to be seen in Epstein's estate images disclosed by the committee - previously published images also include US President Donald Trump and ex-president Bill Clinton, as well as director Woody Allen, ex- US treasury secretary Larry Summers, lawyer Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and others.

Being pictured in the photos is not indication of any illegal activity, and a number of the photographed individuals have stated they were in no way participating in Epstein's illegal activity.

In a statement released with the photograph disclosure, Democratic members on the US House Oversight Committee stated the Epstein estate did not offer background information or timeframes for the photographs.

"Photographs were chosen to provide the American people with transparency into a typical cross-section of the images obtained from the estate, and to give understanding into Epstein's network and his extremely disturbing behavior," the release states.

The publication also features multiple photographs of passages from the Vladimir Nabokov literary work Lolita inscribed in dark ink across various areas of a female's body, including her upper body, foot, hipbone, and rear. Lolita narrates the tale of a minor who was groomed by a middle-aged literature professor.

A particular excerpt from the novel scrawled across a woman's upper body states, "Lo-lee-ta: the point of the tongue making a journey of three steps down the roof of the mouth to tap, at three, on the teeth".

The release also contains a series of images of women's passports and identification documents from countries worldwide, like Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.

A large portion of the details on the IDs, like names and birth dates, is censored but the committee said in a press release that the passports are associated with "women whom Jeffrey Epstein and his conspirators were involved with".

A further photo features Epstein seated at a desk intimately surrounded by three women whose faces have been obscured - one individual has her palm on Epstein's chest under his clothing, and another individual is crouching to look at a close-by laptop. Epstein appears to be helping the final person fasten a piece of jewelry.

Another photograph released is a capture of text messages from an unnamed person who says they have been supplied "several females" and are requesting "$one thousand dollars per girl".

Photograph Disclosure Arrives Before DOJ Deadline

The committee has thousands of photographs in its possession from the Epstein property, which are "both explicit and ordinary," its announcement on this week explained.

The oversight panel first issued a subpoena to the estate of Epstein, who died in a New York prison in 2019 while facing trial on allegations of human trafficking, in August.

The images and documents the Epstein estate's representatives gave to the body are different than what is commonly called "Epstein-related records". Those are records under the Department of Justice's possession connected to its independent investigation into Epstein.

In accordance with the Transparency Act, which Donald Trump enacted recently, the DOJ has until 19 December to release its files. The extent of what is included in the DOJ's files is unknown, and it's likely that a significant portion of the content will be extensively redacted, comparable to Congressional releases
